A Little About Me

I’ve loved sterling silver since I was young—more precisely, since my teenage years, when I first started wearing silver jewelry. A few years ago, out of simple curiosity, I typed “antique sterling silver” into eBay’s search bar. I was just having a look… and then, somehow, things got completely out of hand.

What started as a casual search soon became an all-consuming passion for American silver. The rest, as they say, is history—and mountains of boxes…

I’m what you might call an equal-opportunity collector. Hollowware, flatware, souvenir spoons—I love them all. Why limit yourself to one category when there are so many wonderful things to discover?

My main focus is American silver from the 1860s and 1870s onward, and I have a soft spot for far too many makers to name just one favorite. Part of the joy of collecting, for me, is learning the history behind each company—how its designs evolved, who its designers were, and what makes its work distinctive.

As for style? I’m happily indiscriminate. Neoclassical, Rococo, Japanese, Naturalistic, Repousse, Art Nouveau… I find something to love in all of them.

Of course, there is one small problem with collecting: the boxes. They seem to multiply when I’m not looking, and my basement is slowly being taken over.

And so, Bonbon Silver was born—partly out of a love for these beautiful objects, and partly out of a long-overdue attempt to let a few of them go… and, hopefully, a few boxes with them.

I hope to share some of the pieces I’ve discovered and loved, and find them new homes with people who will appreciate their beauty, craftsmanship, and history as much as I do.

Happy collecting!
